The 75F Smart Damper is to be used as part of the Dynamic Airflow Balancing™ solution. The Smart Damper will be paired with a Smart Node which will provide power and control.
- Be sure Smart Node is accessible for wiring.
- When installing multiple dampers in a zone, only provide the 24VAC power bus line to one of the two Dampers. The Smart Node will be attached to the primary damper.
- Failure to wire devices with the correct polarity when using a shared transformer may result in damage to any device powered by the shared transformer.
- Disconnect power before installing. Never connect or disconnect wiring with the power applied.
- Do not run the low voltage wiring in any conduit with line voltage.
- Install in accordance with all State and local codes.

Mount the Smart Damper. To minimize air noise, the Damper should be installed as near to the trunk line as is reasonable. Install the damper whatever direction is convenient. Be sure that the Smart Node is easily accessible as you will need access to it. Each end of the damper should be secured using at least three screws spaced evenly around the circumference. Flex duct can be secured using a zip tie.
Powering the Smart Damper Smart Node. Using the correct polarity, plug the 24VAC 18/2AWG coming from either the transformer or from the previous Smart Node of a different zone. Color code so that red is always in the ~ port. Strip back 18/2AWG wire ~1/2” and insert until wire is locked in place.
Wiring the Smart Damper(s). Plug the RJ 45 harness on the primary damper into the Damper 1 port on the Smart Node. If there is a second damper, use the 20’ RJ45 male to female extension cable to plug the secondary damper into the Damper 2 port on the Smart Node.
If there are more zones keep running your bus line to each primary damper securing cables so that there is no excessive strain on any connection points.
