| Overview

The HyperStat is part of 75F's vertically integrated suite of intelligent building solutions, delivering multi-mode sensing, remote monitoring and individual zone control for comfort and productivity of building occupants, for more information on refer to HyperStat Installation & Hyperstat UI.

With the vision towards platform play and greater interoperability in the building management space, the HyperStat is built and developed in such a way that it can either, work in a 75F BMS environment connected to 75F's CCU configured for system and terminal level profiles, or it can support an external Modbus network as a Modbus client, or it can also work as an independent or standalone device which can work as per profiles which can be configured in the Hyperstat itself.

The Hyperstat as Modbus Client feature provides the capability to the customer, to configure a Hyperstat with any Modbus device and read the data from Modbus device in a certain format. with its powerful onboard sensors HyperStat can be an excellent asset to the Modbus network supported BMS.

| Wiring

The wiring that is used to connect a modbus device to a Hyperstat is called RS485 system. The RS485 connector uses a three wire protocol as shown below:

It comprises of a earthing wire and a twisted pair of wires. Every modbus device has a 'A' and 'B' indication in them, for aiding the wiring.

The earthing or the ground wire is usually earthed only at one point. Normally, this connection is made at one end of the main cable, in this case it is connected to the ground point of the Hyperstat.

For the Twisted pair of wire, there is no specific color criteria that is followed, it can be of any color. The wire that is connected to the 'A' indication point in the Modbus device is connected to the 'A' indication point in the Hyperstat, and the wire that is connected to the 'B' indication point in the Modbus device is connected to the 'B' indication point in the Hyperstat.

| Wiring Harness

The 75F supports a type of wiring harness to meet the need to Daisy Chain Hyperstat in a Modbus network.

4 Pin to 6 Wire Screw Connector

This uses a 4 pin Molex connector at one end and a 6 wire, screw connector at the other end, You can simply twist the four wires and insert them into the screw slots provided for connection.

From the Home screen of the UI

  • Press the + & - buttons together to navigate to the other screens of the Hyperstat

The Inputs screen is displayed initially

  • Press the next button to navigate to the Communication options screen

| Configuration Parameters

Further navigate again to the communications screen from the Hyperstat Home screen UI

  • Press the up_arrow.png to navigate to the options available.

  • Press the select option to modify the configuration parameter Modbus address.

  • Use the up Down_arrow.png or down up_arrow.png or use the touch slider to modify the Modbus address.

  • Press the select option to modify the configuration parameter Baud rate.
  • Use the up Down_arrow.png or down up_arrow.png buttons to modify the Baud rate.

The Hyperstat is configured as a Modbus Client, and the corresponding configuration parameters are configured, and the device is ready to read and serve the data.
