| Overview

This check verifies the cooling capability of the central Air-Handler Unit (AHU).

This check will be SKIPPED if any of the following is true:

  • The outdoor-air temps are too low (below 50F): this ensures we do not freeze out the ducts
  • The unit is configured for Heating Only

| When it passes

A PASS means the AHU's cooling is working as expected, and adequately conditioned the zones in the air-loop.

| When it fails

A FAIL means the AHU did not respond to the cooling commands or adequately cool the zones.

| Common causes

The cooling unit is not working correctly due to incorrect wiring or bad sensor placement. The zones may not be served by the correct system equip (ductwork is different than pairing).

| Next Steps

  1. Verify cooling equipment operation using manual output from the control mote.
  2. Verify sensor placement and ductwork layout if some zones are not reporting data consistent with others.
