  1. To collect SmartNode v2 device logs, you'll need a USB Type-C cable as shown below and Tera Term software installed on the laptop. 

     

  2. Follow these steps to install the Tera Term software on your laptop.
    1. Download the Tera Term software using the following link - https://github.com/TeraTermProject/teraterm/releases/download/v5.5.2/teraterm-5.5.2-x64.exe 
    2. Click on Open file from the Downloads section to launch the Tera Term application installer as shown below:

       

    3. Click on OK button and proceed next. 


       
    4. Select the radio button - I accept the agreement and click on Next button as shown below: 

       
    5. Click on Next button as shown below:

       

    6. Default installation type is Standard installation, so leave it as is and click the Next button.

       
    7. On the language selection screen, English is selected by default, so let’s go ahead with that and click the Next button.

       
    8. Click on Next button in the Select Start Menu Folder screen.

       

    9. Procced with default selection in Select Additional Tasks screen and click on Next button. 

       
    10. Click on Install button as shown below:

       
    11. Once the installation process is complete, a finish screen will appear. Click the Finish button to close the setup wizard as shown below.

       
  3. Press the Windows logo key, type "teraterm" in the search bar, then select the Tera Term app from the results and click Open to start it.

     
  4. Select Serial radio button which enables Port: section and then click on OK button as shown below: 

     
  5. After clicking on OK button, SmartNode v2 device logs will be printed in the terminal console as shown below:

     
  6. To save the SmartNode v2 device logs, from the top menu click on File and then click on Log... as shown below: 

     
  7. A dialog box will prompt you to save the file, and by default, the location will be the Tera Term application folder. 
    1. To access it more easily, save it to the Desktop or any other convenient location on your laptop by clicking the three dots (...)
    2. Also make sure Timestamp checkbox is selected with Local Time as shown below.

       
  8. Once the logs are collected for specific time you can close the window which would automatically stop the log collection. 
  9. Zip the collected file and share it with support team for further analysis.
