| Overview
MySense is a trimmed version of MyStat, designed specifically to provide advanced sensing and monitoring capabilities without control functionality. It is used in conjunction with a SmartNode or other room-level controllers that have limited onboard sensing.
MySense is designed to deliver accurate and reliable environmental measurements, reporting real-time sensor values to the SmartNode to help maintain optimal conditions for occupant comfort. In addition to sensing, MySense enables users to adjust the temperature of the zone in which it is installed, aligning system behaviour with occupant intent.
| Sensing Capabilities
MySense integrates the following onboard sensors:
Temperature
Humidity
Occupancy
CO₂*
These sensors provide comprehensive room-level data, enabling the SmartNode to make informed control decisions and respond effectively to changing environmental conditions.
| Key Features
MySense integrates four essential sensors in one compact unit:
- Temperature Sensor: Accurate within ±1°F, operating between 0°F to 122°F (32°C to 50°C)
- Humidity Sensor: Measures 0–100% RH with ±2% accuracy
- Occupancy Detection: PIR sensor with a 4m range and 110° detection angle
- CO₂ Sensor: Measures from 400–5000 ppm
- Accuracy:
- ±50 ppm or ±2.5% (400–1000 ppm)
- ±50 ppm or ±3% (1001–2000 ppm)
- Accuracy:
User-Centric Interface:
A 1.8-inch backlit screen and tactile buttons enable users to view readings and adjust setpoints easily. The backlight ensures visibility even in low-light conditions, while button feedback confirms user interactions.
Smart Communication:
- Bluetooth 5.1 for quick pairing with other wireless sensors, and 75F apps.
- Efficient Power & Installation:
- Powered via 2-wire Power over RS485 (POR) – eliminating the need for separate power lines
- Easy and secure spring-lock connectors and push-and-fix wall mounting enable hassle-free installation
Additional Flexibility:
- 3 Universal Inputs for analog or thermistor signals
- Thermistor accuracy:
- Max 1% for 1k–100kΩ
- Max 5% for >100kΩ
| How it Works
MySense features an intuitive user interface consisting of a screen and tactile buttons that allow occupants to interact with the device and adjust permitted settings.
Button presses provide immediate feedback, confirming that user input has been registered.
The display includes a backlight, ensuring visibility and ease of navigation in low ambient light conditions.
It also comes with 3 universal inputs that can be used to monitor different universal input types.
| Power & Connectivity
MySense supports 2-wire Power over RS-485 (POR), allowing both power and communication to be delivered over a single connection between the SmartNode and MySense. This simplifies installation, reduces wiring complexity, and improves overall system reliability.
| Advantages
- Reduces wiring complexity with POR support
- Enhances comfort with user-adjustable settings
- Enables centralized control and automation via SmartNode
- Ideal for smart offices, commercial buildings, and energy-efficient retrofits
| Precautions
- Polarity Warning: Incorrect polarity wiring with a shared transformer can damage powered devices.
- Power Safety: Always turn off the power before connecting or disconnecting wiring.
- Circuit Board Protection: Ensure powered wires do not touch the circuit boards.
- Code Compliance: Install in accordance with all state and local codes.
- Assembly Caution: Do not assemble the front to the back plate while the device is powered on.
- Auto-Calibration: MyStat requires seven days to auto-calibrate and reach a steady state.
- Sensor Care: Avoid mechanical stress on the CO2 sensor for accurate readings.
| Mounting instructions
Mounting without GangBox
- Place the MySense mounting plate and the back plate (only if the gang box is fixed vertically) on the gang box such that the back plate covers the gang box and fixes these two items to the wall gang box with the PHP screws provided in the box.
- Now align the MySense top plastic with the MySense mounting plate and push it to lock.
- Use the socket head screw provided in the box to lock MySense with the Mounting Plate.
