Custom Heatmap filter is a feature of 75F® system(Facilisight and Internal), which is used to apply color coded filters to zones in the heatmap based on various points, and conditions.
The points used for the filters are usually such points which are not plotted in the zones and CCU level visualizations, and is needed to be tracked and monitored.
The points and conditions are defined using the custom filter option with specified colors. Once a point and its conditions are defined and set, with a click the same can be applied to the zones of the heatmap of the site. Filters created can be a personal filter (used by a single user) or can be a shared filter (used by other users accessing the site for information).
| Accessing Custom Heatmap Filters
To access the Custom Heatmap filter option from the Facilisight portal:
- Log into the Facilisight portal.
- Select the building in scope.
The heatmap page is displayed.
- Click the filter icon at the right hand top corner.
The filter window is displayed.
The following table explains the options available in the filter window.
You can view all the default filters for the building /site, and option to select from, under this section, that can be applied for the heatmap.
Default: This applies the default view of the heatmap with the zone name and the temperature values for cooling & heating desired temperatures, and with predefined color code for the zones based on current temperature range between cooling & heating desired temperatures, as shown in the legend provided.
Occupancy: This applies a color coded view based on the occupancy of the zone as below.
Note: Under the multi-module zones, even if one module is occupied, the zone is color coded for occupied.
FW version: This applies a view to the heatmap, with just the zone name and the firmware/equipment version used for the zone or module of a zone, as shown below:
You can view all the personal custom filters created for the building/site, under this section.
Note: Personal filters created are available only for the users who have created them(Facility manager/Secondary facility manager).
|Search for filter||
You can use this field to search for any particular filter, using any keyword related to the filter name
You can view all the custom filters created and shared for the building/site, under this section.
Note: Shared filters are available for use for all other users of the site.
- Click any already created filter under any of the sections to view it in the heatmap screen.
You can view heatmap for occupancy displayed in the above screen.
| Creating a Custom Heatmap Filter
To create a new custom heatmap filter.
- Click Add next personal or shared filter sections. (to create a new personal filter or a new shared filter).
The following table explains the options available in the filter window:
|Custom Heatmap Title||You can use this option to rename a custom heatmap created.|
|Select Tags||You can use this option to search for tags to filter a point.|
|Points||You can see the points filtered by the tags searched for.|
|Shared/Personal||You can use this toggle to switch the type of the filter to a shared or a personal filter.|
- Enter the tag to filter the points.
The point applicable for the entered tag is displayed.
Note: The system does not allow the user to select from the available point options, but can only further filter using more tags to narrow down the search to a single point.
- Enter the more tags to narrow down the point search to just one point.
- Click the filtered point, to select.
The options to define the conditions for the point is displayed.
The following table explains the options available in the window, for defining conditions, for the selected point.
You use this field to specify a name to the filter created.
|Selected point||You can view the point selected to create a custom heatmap.|
|Edit||You can hover over the selected point in the conditions space and use this option to edit the name of the point to a new name.|
|Delete||You can hover over the selected point in the conditions space and use this option to delete the selected point and reset the filter screen.|
|Tags||You can see the tags used to filter the selected point in this section.|
You can use this option to select a data range, for which the created condition is applicable.
You can select from the options below:
Individual Module Data - To apply the filter condition for individual module level data in a zone.
Highest Module Data - To apply the filter condition for the highest of all the module data in a zone.
Average Module Data -To apply the filter condition for the average of all the module data.
Lowest Module Data - To apply the filter condition for the lowest of the module data.
Applying the following conditions for a filter for current temperature in a building.
The heatmap for Highest Module Data for zone -MM is shown as below.
Where the Zone-MM has two modules, one with the current temperature 311F and other with 72F, the zone gets filled by the legend color yellow, which is for condition greater than 200F, and met by the Highest Module Data
Applying the same conditions as above for a filter for current temperature in a building but this time for Lowest Module Data.
The heatmap for the zone -MM is as shown below.
Where the Zone-MM has 2 modules, one with the current temperature 311F and other with 72F, the zone gets filled by the legend color Red, which is for the condition less than 80F, and met by the Lowest Module Data.
Similarly the legend color for condition met by the average value of modules, gets filled in the zones when the option Average Module Data is used, as shown below.
The zone with an average temperature less than 80 get filled in with the legend color red.
You can use this option to specify a condition parameter.
You can select from the options below.
You can specify a value for the condition parameter(only numerical values are allowed).
You can use this option to select a specific color for the condition specified, from the available palette of colors as show below:
You can use this option to provide a name for the condition specified (e.g. High, Low, Medium etc.).
|Add additional conditions||
You can use icon next to the condition line to add additional conditions as below.
Note: You can use the icon in the condition line to delete a condition.
|Add New Point||
You can use this option to add an additional point to the custom filter as shown below:

- Add conditions
- Specify value, legend color and legend name
- Click save
The custom heatmap filter gets saved for usage, under the personal filter section.
- Use the Shared/Personal toggle button to make the dashboard as shared one.
- Click the icon from the heatmap page to access the created filter.
- Click the created filter to apply it to the heatmap.
The applied custom filter takes effect in the heatmap page as below.
- Click to clear the applied filter and revert to the default heatmap view.
The filter created here is an IAQ filter that monitors the values of CO2 and VOC in a zone, and populates the heatmap zones with corresponding colors based on the condition set.
Similarly, you can utilize the custom heatmap filter to monitor any points in the building with a value.
Following are a few example cases where the custom heatmap filter can be put to use.
- You can monitor where the current temperature stands with respect to the desired temperature, thus monitoring the comfort levels.
- You can observe the occupancy for the zones if those zones are occupied or not. (using default filter).
- You can view the conditioning modes for VAV and DAB related zones.
- You can use the data points from a custom alert that is set, to create a filter to track the alert generation.
- For example, if an alert is created for 'temp limit breach' where the temperature goes above 75 F or below 68 F, then an alert is triggered. You can create a filter with similar conditions to view zones in a particular color whenever the temperature goes above 75 F or below 68 F.
|Editing & Deleting a Custom Heatmap Filter
Note: The user can only view and not edit a shared filter created and shared by other users, as shown below.
But can edit or delete a filter that was created and shared as below:

- Click the edit icon next to a shared filter to edit and update the filter as shown below:
- Click the delete icon next to a shared filter to delete the filter and confirm deletion as shown below:

You can add more than one point to a filter and apply them to the Heatmap as shown below.

Note: When multiple conditions are used for a filter, and all of them are met, legend colors for both the conditions, reflect in the heatmap as shown below.
|Accessing Custom Heatmap Filters from the Facilisight Mobile App
You cannot create or edit any custom heatmap filters in the Facilisight mobile app, but you can use a custom heatmap filter created and shared to view in the heatmap section of the Facilisight mobile app.
To access and use the custom heatmap filters:
- Log into the Facilisight mobile app.
- Select a building as the scope.
From the heatmap page
- Click the icon on the top right corner.
- Select a custom heatmap filter from the list available.
The selected custom filter is applied to the heatmap page.
- Click Clear to remove the filter.
