Site Quote Tool- Quote Creation

| Overview

The Site Quote Tool is designed to replace the current manual site-quote creation process.

| Existing challenges

The current quote creation workflow is manual and causes:

Delays in generating site quotes
Human errors during quote creation
Limited visibility into ownership
No clear audit trail of who created, reviewed, modified, or approved a quote

| Objective of the new feature

The Coding Tool introduces a structured, workflow-driven system that provides:

Standardized quote creation
Role-based ownership
Controlled review and approval
State-driven lifecycle tracking
Better traceability from initial request to final commissioning approval

Quote Creation

Used by field-facing or operational users to create and manage quotes.

The user can choose either to create a quote manually or take the help of the AI for the quote creation.

During the manual creation process,

Users can select from the already created quotes to use for the new sites.

Or create a new quote for the site from scratch.

In a fresh quote creation process,

Users can:

Enter the Sales or distributor details.

Select and add equipments

With the added equipment, the associated bill of materials is auto-generated

Users can add the required BOM items or delete non-applicable ones.

Note: The products for the corresponding environment are displayed in the product list.

Note: Price multiplier is the discount applied to the actual price; for example, a price multiplier of 0.8 equates to a 20% discount.

Users can bulk edit the equipment and the BOM items.

From the Excel interface, as shown below.

Or from the Add equipment window, as shown below.

Users can use the Reset option to revert to the original list item, during the addition or deletion of BOM items.

Save work in progress

Users can edit, delete or export the draft in different formats using the options provided.

| Workflow Lifecycle

The feature uses a state-driven workflow model.

| Floor, Location & Notes

Users can add floor names for the equipment as shown below.

Note: The default floor name is floor 1.

| Comments

The Comments Attachment Enhancement extends the existing attachment workflow in the Comments panel by allowing users to capture and upload media directly from their device camera, in addition to uploading files from local storage.

With this enhancement, users can quickly attach site photos, equipment images, videos, or supporting documents without leaving the application, improving field productivity and reducing the steps required to share contextual information.

Note: Attachments with multiple pages are also supported, including PDF, Word, and Text file formats.

For a submitted quote, the users can check the quote status using the quote status log option, as shown below.

| Configurable Exception Product Handling in Bill of Materials (BOM)

This enhancement introduces special handling for configurable exception products within the Bill of Materials (BOM) workflow. Unlike standard BOM products, exception products follow predefined business rules for selection, quantity calculation, editability, reset behaviour, and bulk update operations.

The objective of this feature is to support labor and service-based products whose quantities are derived from overall hardware value rather than being manually maintained by users.

The list of exception products is environment-specific and managed through backend configuration, allowing future additions or modifications without requiring application code changes.
