| Overview
Alerts in the 75F system are notifications, that raise alarms based on preset rules for a particular parameter. When these parameters are continuously monitored through the alerts, the insights gained can be really valuable and helps to draw excellent conclusions for greater efficiency of the BMS.
The 75F CCUs constantly stream alerts into the 75F system, detecting issues such as abnormal temperatures, building-limit breaches, etc.
This acts as the first line of insight to help support users identify faults in buildings, but in many situations, there can be 100s of these alerts from a single site in a few hours.
Often, many of these alerts can be due to similar reasons. they get triggered due to one of the following reasons.
External Causes
- AHU failure
- Corrupt/faulty sensors
- Power outages
- Heatwave
- Bad CCU update
- Cloud connectivity issues
- BACNET Integration Failures
- MODBUS Failures
- API Integration fails
Internal Causes
- Tuner changes
- Faulty Default values
- Faulty Alert definition Internal Causes
The Alerts Insights feature of 75F is introduced, To get better visibility into how frequently specific alerts occur, or how are these alerts distributed across zones on a floor, or across multiple buildings. Having this visibility helps to reduce the frequent occurrence of alerts of a particular type, which means faster time to detect and troubleshoot (lower TTD and TTR), and less alert fatigue. Users can achieve this by tweaking and tightening existing alert definition rules, or creating new definitions to detect the root causes so that the core issues can be resolved quickly before more alerts accumulate.
| Accessing Alerts Insights
The alert insights are accessed from the internal portal.
From the internal portal home page.
- Click the Alert Insights option.
The Alert insights screen is displayed.
The screen provides an option to select several sites, for which the alerts generated need to be analyzed, and an option to select a date range for which the alerts need to be filtered.
- Search for the sites and select, or select the sites from the drop-down list.
- Select a date range to filter out the alerts generated during the period.
Alerts generated can be sampled for options as below for analysis
- Today
- Last 3 day
- Last week
- Last month
- Last 6 Months
- Last Year
Or a specific date range can be selected from the calendar provided.
For this example, let us sample the alert data for a 6 Month range.
- Click the option Last 6 Months.
The sampled alert data information is displayed below.
The following table explains the various fields displayed on the page:

You can use the options to toggle between the next and the previous alert pages, where the number of alerts filtered is more than the value option selected under Rows per page. |
| Timeline View
The alert insights feature provides around 3 types of visualization for plotting the alerts generated, for better understanding and better insights.
The first visualization is a Timeline Visualization/ View as shown below.
The following table explains the various fields displayed on the view:

Description |
Group by |
You can use this option to group alerts for various criteria, and achieve different views based on the selection made. Following are the options available under the option group.
Below are a couple of example views based on the grouping selected. Grouped by Title:
Grouped by CCU:
Using a different selection in the group by option, a different view is achieved, you can use these options to get a perfect view to visualize the data, and to gain a good understanding and insights into the Alerts occurrence. |
Interval |
You can use this option to select a time interval, for which the view of the alert data can be modified. Following are the options available under the option interval.
Below are a couple of example view based on the interval selected. 15-minute Interval: Daily Interval: Using a different selection in the Group by and Interval options, a different view is achieved, you can use these options to get a perfect view to visualize the data, and to gain a good understanding and insights into the Alerts occurrence. |

| Alerts Triage
It is a view that is supported by the alert insights feature, which lets you Perform triage and prioritize diagnostics.
Below is a sample visualization for the same.
Using a different selection in the group by option, a different triaging view is achieved, you can use these options to get a perfect triaging view to visualize the data, and to gain a good understanding and insights into the Alerts occurrence.
Hover over the bars in the view to get detailed information about of the bar displayed as below.
| Drill Down 3D
It is a view that is supported by the alert insights feature, which uses the x, y and z axis to plot different information related to alerts, helps get a visually appealing 3D effect into the alert occurrences.
The following table explains the various fields displayed on the view:
Field Name |
Description |
Severity & Alert Type |
You can use this option to select a type of information, you wish to view in the 3D dridrill-downew. Below are the options available Severity - To view the severity information of the alerts in the view as ow. Alert Type - To view the alert type information of the alerts in the view as ow.
|
Vertical Axis |
You can use this option to select the information type for the vertical axis of the view. Below are the options available. Site: To set the site details as the vertical axis of the 3D view as below. CCU: To set the CCU's details as the vertical axis of the 3D view as below. Floor: To set the floor information as the vertical axis of the 3D view as below.
Zone: To set the zone information as the vertical axis of the 3D view as below. Note: The other two axes of the view are, the time range and Alert type at all times. The view can zoomed in and out using the mouse to get a better view of the details, and the view can be rotated in all directions, by clicking and dragging the view. |
You can use various selections, under various options, provided for different views to achieve different types of visualizations.
All of these capabilities make the alert insights a great tool to analyze, gain visibility, understanding and insights into the alert occurrences and patterns, and can reduce the frequent occurrence of alerts of a particular type, which means faster time-to-detect and troubleshooting with less alert fatigue.
