| Overview

When using a 100 ft (30.5 m) sensor bus cable, the Smart Node V2 may not communicate reliably with the connected wall sensor. To address this, install an external 500 Ω pull-up resistor between the red and white cable cores at the Smart Node V2 end, following the wiring instructions below.

| Recommended Solution

Install a 500 Ω through-hole pull-up resistor between the red and white cores of the sensor bus cable at the Smart Node V2 end, following the approved wiring instructions.

| Installation Procedure

  1. Disconnect power to the Smart Node V2 before modifying the wiring.
  2. Identify the red and white cores of the sensor bus cable at the Smart Node V2 end.
  3. Install the 500 Ω resistor between the red and white cores, as shown in the wiring illustration.
  4. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated. Leave the black wire unconnected, as shown in the illustration.
  5. Restore power and verify that the wall sensor communicates correctly with the Smart Node V2.
