| Overview

The Multi-Sensor is the latest sensor that is introduced into the 75F's portfolio of sensors.

The SmartNode has capabilities for /IAQ (CO2) and occupancy-based energy sequences, but the current wall sensors that are being used, do not provide all the required sensing capabilities for necessary inputs. 

The Multi-Sensor is a wired sensor used with the SmartNode to solve the problem. It can sense and provide the required parameter inputs to the SmartNode, to trigger IAQ (CO2) and occupancy-based energy sequences like the AutoAway and Auto Forced Occupied


It augments the SmartNode to add full Title 24 compliance. In addition to comfort (temperature/humidity).

| How It Works

The Multi-Sensor is an all-in-one sensor that measures Temperature, Humidity, CO2, and Occupancy. This sensor addition allows 75F to offer out-of-the-box HVAC control sequences to meet the exacting demands of California's Title 24 energy code.

| Features


  • Measures temperature and humidity with an accuracy of +- 0.5C and 3% RH.  
  • Occupancy sensing for targets within a 10m distance and 100 angles (ideal 180 deg). Ideally, the range sensitivity is adjustable to suppress overlapping coverage.
  • Ceiling mount and accurately senses a motion at 4m height and 100deg angle. (it would cover 10sq ft on the floor).  
  • CO2 sensitivity and accuracy meet the title 24 requirements.
  • It powers and communicates over the low-power sensor harness cable and can be daisy-chained with other devices on the bus
  • Considered to be a terminal device on the bus, with fixed reflection-dampening resistors.
  • Capability to daisy chain and power and communicates in a bus.

| Mounting

It is easily mounted on a wall by a single toggle bolt.


| Wiring

The sensor plugs into the standard 3wire sensor bus that 75F offers on its Nodes and Stats.


The modern low-profile design appeal to architect aesthetics and allows the sensors to blend in with office environments. 


The 3 Pin connector connects to the sensor as shown below



With its daisy-chaining capability, the Multi-Sensor uses a 3 Wire Daisy Chain Adapter as below to connect more devices in the bus.


The Daisy chain connector connects to the sensor as shown below:


Combining the daisy chain adapter and 3 Pin to 3 Pin cable of lengths 18 inches, 20, 30, and 50 feet, the daisy chaining of multi-sensors to a SmartNode can be achieved as below.


When Daisy Chained

  • Not more than 4 multi sensors can be daisy chained in a Bus.
  • The Temperature, CO2, and Humidity values of the sensors in the bus are averaged for the master device.
  • The occupancy in the master device results, when at least one Multi Sensor in the bus detects occupancy.

| Other Capabilities


When the top cover is removed, the Multi-Sensor provides the user with additional capabilities.

  • Press the button at position 1 to reset the sensor.
  • Move the dip switches at position 2 to set the address for the sensor, when more than one multi-sensor is installed in a bus.

The table below explains how to set a different address for the multi-sensors in the same bus.

  • Use the switch at position 3 to set the sensor either as a daisy-chained device, or the terminal device in the bus.
  • Press the button at position 4 to set the Master device to pairing mode, without having to access the device installed at the plenum in the building (press the button somewhere between 3 to 6 seconds).
