| Overview

The 75F system supports both Dual and Single desired temperature modes at 75F, catering to users' geographical needs and working in specific modes. Single desired temp is for systems that work only in cooling or heating mode, while the dual mode is for systems that function in both modes automatically.

The primary reason for supporting both modes is to enable users to input a single desired temperature setpoint and assign it to zones through the Facilisight portal, instead of having to provide separate setpoints for heating and cooling. This allows for greater ease and convenience in meeting the user's comfort requirements.

Note: Dual setpoints are completely based on the configuration of the profiles for which they are applicable and not on the condition modes of the profiles.

| Conditional Logic for Profiles

VAV Terminal profiles

For VAV the conditional logic is given below:

Only Cooling Configuration Single Mode with Cooling Desired Temperature
Heating & Cooling Configuration Dual Mode with Cooling Desired Temperature & Heating Desired Temperature

Smart Stat Zone Profiles

For Smart Stat profiles, the temperature mode is defined by the conditioning mode of the zone profiles which results in an enhanced single mode.

Zone Profile Zone Profile Condition Temperature Mode
Conventional Package Unit (CPU) (considering relay, analog) Only Heating configuration Single mode with HDT
Only Cooling Configuration Single mode with CDT
Heating & Cooling Configuration Dual mode with HDT & CDT
Heat Pump Unit (HPU) NA Dual Mode with HDT & CDT

4 Pipe Fan Coil Unit (2PFCU) (Considering relay, Analog water valve) Only Heating Configuration Single mode with HDT
Only Cooling Configuration Single mode with CDT
Heating & Cooling Configuration Dual with HDT & CDT

HyperStat Profiles

For HyperStat profiles, the temperature mode is defined by the conditioning mode of the zone profiles.

Zone Profile Zone Profile Condition User Intent Conditioning Mode Temperature Mode
Conventional Package Unit (CPU) (considering relay, analog) Only Heating configuration Heat Off Heat Single mode with HDT
Only Cooling Configuration Cool Off Cool Single mode with CDT
Heating & Cooling Configuration Auto, Cool, Heat & Off Auto Dual mode with HDT & CDT
  Cool Single mode with CDT
Heat Single mode with HDT
Heat Pump Unit (HPU) NA Auto, Cool, Heat & Off Auto Dual Mode with HDT & CDT
NA

4 Pipe Fan Coil Unit (2PFCU) (Considering relay, Analog water valve) (Not Implemented currently) Only Heating Configuration     Single mode with HDT
Only Cooling Configuration     Single mode with CDT
Heating & Cooling Configuration     Dual mode with HDT & CDT

Note: All the configurations are based on the auxiliary heating of the profile while considering the condition mode of the respective profile.

SmartNode

For SmartNode SSE profiles, the conditional logic supports only single modes. They are as follows.

Profile Name Zone Profile Conditions Temperature Mode (Single or Dual)
SmartNode SSE Only Heating Configuration Single with HDT
Only Cooling configuration Single with CDT

OTN

For OTN profiles, the conditional logic supports only single modes. They are as follows.

Profile Name System Profile Conditions Temperature Mode (Single or Dual)
OTN Only Heating configuration Single with HDT
Only Cooling configuration Single with CDT
Heating & Cooling configuration Dual mode with HDT & CDT

CCU TI

For CCU temperature influencing profile, the conditional logic supports only single modes. They are as follows.

Profile Name System Profile Conditions Temperature Mode (Single or Dual)
CCU Temperature Influencing Only Heating configuration Single with HDT
Only Cooling configuration Single with CDT
Heating & Cooling configuration Dual mode with HDT & CDT

Multimodule

For a multimodule profile, the conditional logic will be based on the logic described for each of the profiles, and all the scenarios shall follow a similar rule.

| Impact on CCU

For a certain CCU, the single desired temperature mode is enabled on the installer options as given below.

Note: The single desired temperature mode is completely dependent on the configuration of the profile and not on the conditioning mode of the profile and the same is cascaded across sites/buildings for the profile.

| Impact On Heatmaps

In case of heatmaps, the zones are represented in such a way that the current temperature lies in the left whereas the cooling and heating desired temperatures are located after it. Thus, with the introduction of single temperature mode, the zones are represented with single and dual temperature modes as per system profile configurations. The same is represented below.

GetImage (1).png

  • With dual temp setpoints: say 70 & 74 F when the current temp is in between the same it will show as green color for the heat map zone tile.
  • With single temperatures considering only cooling zone: if the Zone desired temperature is 74F and the current temp is 71.7F then the zone tile on heatmap will show in blue color indicating that the zone is overcooled.

| Impact on Widgets (Based on Configuration)

For a zone in a heatmap page, when the user hovers around the zones on the heat map page, on the top of the pop-up dialogue, we see the current temperature and the desired heating and cooling temperature setpoints respectively.

GetImage (2).png

  • In case of Cooling Desired temperature for a zone, the widget will display cooling user limits along with cooling desired temperature and current temperature (CDT+current temperature)
  • In case of Heating Desired temperature for a zone, the widget will only display heating user limits along with heating desired temperature and current temperature (HDT+Current temperature)

Note: This above does not apply for the scheduler component for a profile.

| Impact on Temperature Slider

When the single desired temperature mode is enabled based on the zone/system equipment profile configurations, all the zones under various floors within the building would start following the single desired heating/cooling temperature setpoint. Thus, the same has to be supported by the temperature slider where the user interacts with the system to input the desired heating/cooling temperature.

When the single desired temperature is enabled based on the zonal/system equipment profile configurations, all the zones under various floors within the building would start following the single desired heating/cooling temperature setpoint.

This is further supported by the temperature slider where the user interacts with the system to input the desired heating/cooling temperature which is further enabled by the configuration of the profile.

| Impact on Apps

When the single desired temperature mode is enabled, the arc rider in the Facilisight and Occupant app accepts single desired temperature setpoints instead of showing both the cooling and heating desired temperature setpoints as per zonal & system configurations.

A similar is observed for Occupant app where the arc slider constitutes of a single temperature mode instead of displaying both heating and cooling temperature modes.
