| Overview

A Special Event enables a Facility Manager to define an occupancy schedule that falls outside the building's standard operating schedule. For example, if a building is normally unoccupied on Saturdays, a Facility Manager can create a Special Schedule to operate the building's HVAC equipment for a specific time period on a Saturday to accommodate temporary occupancy.

In addition, a Special Event provides the flexibility to temporarily override a vacation or holiday schedule defined through the annual holiday calendar. This allows the Facility Manager to designate a specific holiday as an operational day without permanently modifying the configured holiday calendar.

A Special Event functions as the highest-priority schedule for the configured time period. Once applied, it overrides the Zone Schedule, Shared Schedule, and any active Vacation Schedule associated with the zone during the specified duration. Unlike a Vacation Schedule, which enforces a non-operational period, a Special Event is designed to temporarily restore or modify building operation for a defined time window. After the Special Event expires, the system automatically reverts to the previously configured scheduling hierarchy.
