| Overview

The CCU may occasionally fail to detect or reconnect to a Wi-Fi network that it was previously connected to. A factory reset of the CCU tablet can resolve this issue by clearing the existing device data and restoring the device to its factory state.

Important: A factory reset deletes user data and device configuration stored on the tablet. Perform the reset only when required and follow the procedure carefully.

| Symptoms

The issue may be observed when:

  • The CCU does not detect a previously connected network.
  • The CCU cannot reconnect to the expected network.
  • Network connectivity does not recover after standard troubleshooting.

| Resolution

Perform a factory reset of the CCU tablet using Android Recovery Mode.

Prerequisites

  • CCU tablet
  • Micro-USB cable
  • Laptop with ADB (Android Debug Bridge) installed and configured
  • Access to the CCU tablet's physical Power and Volume Down buttons

| Procedure

Connect the CCU to a laptop

  1. Connect the micro-USB cable to the CCU tablet.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the laptop.

Verify ADB connectivity

Open a command prompt or PowerShell window on the laptop and run:

adb devices

Verify that the CCU tablet appears in the list of connected devices.

Example:

List of devices attached
IPD2022042981 device

Note: The device ID displayed on your system may be different from the example above.

Enter Android Recovery Mode

Run the following command:

adb reboot recovery

The CCU tablet should restart and display the Recovery screen.

Perform the factory reset

Using the Volume Down button:

  1. Select Wipe data/factory reset.
  2. Press the Power button to confirm.
  3. Select Yes — delete all user data.
  4. Press the Power button to confirm the operation.
  5. Wait for the factory reset process to complete.
  6. Select Reboot system now.
  7. Press the Power button to restart the tablet.

Complete the reboot

After the tablet has rebooted:

  1. Allow the CCU tablet to complete the startup process.
  2. If necessary, press and hold the Power button for more than 5 seconds and select Reboot.
  3. After the second reboot, unlock the tablet by swiping up.
  4. Verify that the notification slider is functioning correctly.
  5. Check whether the CCU can now detect and connect to the required network.

| Expected Result

After the factory reset and subsequent reboot:

  • The CCU tablet should start successfully.
  • The device should be able to detect available networks.
  • The previously observed network connectivity issue should be resolved.

| Troubleshooting

If the CCU still cannot detect or connect to the required network after the factory reset, proceed with the applicable network and CCU connectivity troubleshooting procedures or escalate the issue for further investigation.
