| Overview

The 75F smart devices which are part of a BMS (Building management system) communicate with the CCU and the BMS application using various levels of bands in the 900 MHz networks.

When the 75F smart devices are installed for different customers in two different buildings, or in the same building on two different floors. or on the same floor in two different sections, or two different CCUs squeezed at smaller spaces for the collection of two different types of data.

There is always a chance that the data communicated from one device to its corresponding CCU, can interfere with the data communicated by another device to its corresponding CCU.

To address this issue the 75F has introduced a concept of Transmission power in its smart devices, which can be set at a lower value for devices communicating with two different CCUs, in very small spaces or very close to each other.

| Setting Transmission Power in HyperStat

From the home UI screen of the HyperStat.

  • Press the + & - buttons together to navigate to the other screens of the HyperStat.

The Inputs screen is displayed initially.

  • Press the next button to navigate to the Installer options screen.

  • Press the down Down.png arrow button to navigate to the Transmission power option.

  • Press the select option to access the Transmission Power option.

By default, the Transmission power is +11dBm” 

  • Press the down Down.png and up up.png arrows to select a transmission option between +11dBm and -4dBm as below, to suit the space in which the HyperStats are installed.

  • Press the Back button to confirm the selection.

The Transmission power for the HyperStat gets changed.

Below are a few illustrations that support the significance of the introduction of Transmission power range in the devices.

Scenario 1

Scenario 1 illustrates when the devices communicating their corresponding CCU are well apart from each other, the hindrance in their data transmission capability is minimum and the data transmission of one device does not interfere with the other, and hence a +11dBm  transmission power hold perfectly good for such a scenario

Scenario 2

Scenario 2  illustrates when the devices communicating to their corresponding CCU are close to each other, there is a hindrance in their data transmission capability and the data transmission of one device does interfere with the other, and hence a +11dBm  transmission power does not hold good for such scenarios.

Scenario 3

Scenario 3 illustrates when the devices communicating to their corresponding CCU are close to each other, but there is no hindrance in their data transmission capability and the data transmission of one device does interfere with the other, with a reduced transmission power of a +8dBm  transmission power.

Scenario 3 illustrates when the devices communicating to their corresponding CCU are close to each other, and the interference in their data transmission is further reduced on a further reduced transmission power of a +2dBm.

And so on, based on the space restrictions between the device,  further reducing the Transmission Power continue to reduce the interference of a device's data transmission.

  • The transmission power modification using the HyperStat UI support is available from the HyperStat version 0.64 and above.
